The Higher School of Tourism and Foreign Languages was founded in 2003 and entered the Register of Non-Public Institutions of Higher Education by the Ministry of National Education and Sport as number 141. At the present time, the college has a student body of over 2000 and offers full-time day and part-time weekend programmes. The college is authorized to provide BA and MA/MSc programmes in Tourism and Recreation and BA in Sociology and English Philology.

Faculty of Leisure and Tourism

  • Students of the Tourism and Recreation Faculty gain practical and theoretical knowledge about the travel and tourist industry worldwide including:
  • Law and administration aspects of travel agencies and tour operators in Poland and other European Union countries
  • Marketing, planning, product creation and management, creation, optimization, development of sales and distribution channels
  • Coordination and management of hotel, gastronomy and catering enterprises
  • Cultural aspects of tourism
  • Foreign languages (two for Polish speakers, English obligatory for all students and additionally one chosen from French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, one plus Polish language for students taking the courses in English)
  • Interesting majors: Media and Communication in Tourism, Hotel Management and Gastronomy, Organization of Travel Services, Travel Agency and Tour Operator Management.
  • Interesting MA/Msc majors: Tourism Development in Regions, International Tourism, Hotel Management and Gastronomy, Communication and Journalism in Travel Industry

English Studies

In the time of social changes and deepening European integration the demand for specialists with fluent foreign languages command constantly grows. The command of a language is linked to learning the culture and civilization of English-speaking countries preparing a graduate to the job as a translator/interpreter or teacher of English.                           
Thanks to the new courses in our university, English Studies has become not only the science about language, but also the base for many professions on the labor market.                                                                      
The new curriculum combines subjects of theoretical knowledge with practical workshops so that students have the opportunity to learn about functioning of companies which may be the potential workplace for them, and about the activities giving the chance to show their language skills (formulating writings and offers, translating texts, making call speeches etc.). New courses prepare the graduates of our Higher School to work as a sport and social journalist by providing students with solid workshop in the form of traineeships for shaping the English skills.
